Overview

Ora is a Catholic liturgical prayer app designed to help you pray the traditional Divine Office, follow the 1962 liturgical calendar, and read daily Mass texts. Your privacy is important to us.

Information We Collect

The developer collects no personal information through Ora. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking software.

Data Storage

Liturgical data, including saints, Mass texts, the Divine Office, and the Latin dictionary, is bundled with the app
Your settings are stored locally on your device
No personal data is transmitted to developer-operated servers (Ora has no such servers)
No analytics or tracking
No user accounts required

Optional Permissions

If you choose to enable these features:

Calendar Access (Optional)

If you enable "Saint of the Day Calendar," Ora requests calendar access and creates a dedicated calendar called "Ora — Saint of the Day"
iOS currently grants calendar-writing features through its full EventKit access permission. Ora uses that access only to find, create, and update the dedicated Ora calendar; it does not upload your calendar data or use unrelated events
If the calendar is created in iCloud or another calendar account, Apple or that account provider may sync it under that provider's privacy policy
The developer cannot see your calendars or the entries Ora creates
You can disable this permission at any time in iOS Settings

Notifications (Optional)

If you enable prayer reminders, local notifications are scheduled on your device
No push notifications or external servers involved
You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings

Data We Don't Collect

❌ No usage analytics
❌ No advertising identifiers
❌ No third-party tracking
❌ No cookies or web tracking

Third-Party Services

Ora uses no third-party analytics, advertising networks, or developer-operated online services. Open-source liturgical and language data is bundled inside the app rather than fetched from those projects while you use Ora. Links in Settings and Licenses open external websites only when you choose them.

Children's Privacy

Ora is safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Your data remains under the protections and backup settings of your device and Apple account
Ora does not maintain a remote user database
The developer cannot access data stored only on your device or in your calendar account

Your Rights

You have complete control:

Ora's app data and settings are stored locally; optional calendar entries may sync through the calendar account you select
Delete the app to remove its local settings and data
You may remove the "Ora — Saint of the Day" calendar separately in Apple Calendar if you enabled that feature
No account to delete (we don't have accounts)
No "right to be forgotten" needed (we never remembered you)

Changes to This Policy

We will update this policy if we ever add features that collect data. Check this page periodically for updates.
